All the President's Grizzly Men
EPISODE 338: Dead silence.
It’s been more than a week since we published our episode with Hunterbrook Media about Robert Pera — the founder of Ubiquiti Inc. and owner of the Memphis Grizzlies — and how his technology has enabled Russia’s drone war in Ukraine.
Clips from the episode racked up millions of views. It shot to the top of NBA Reddit. And Hunterbrook’s reporting left a conspicuous dent in Europe, where Vladimir Putin’s crimes against humanity still appear to rate.
But here in America: neither Robert Pera… nor Ubiquiti… nor the Grizzlies… nor the NBA… nor NBA commissioner Adam Silver has said a single word.
About any of this.
And U.S. sports media, to the surprise of nobody, has stayed virtually silent, too.
So in the meantime: I summoned our old friend David Samson — inveterate member of the sports c-suite — for an emergency Sporting Class. So I could try to decode the business of owning a sports team. And a media company.
YOUTUBE SPOILER ALERT:
Sincerely,
Pablo

Interesting to find out about the inner workings of sports teams and their owners. Ugh. The immense wealth in such few hands, and the egos that thrive on this. Should be taxed so much, as they provide little value to anyone but themselves.
