Capitalism*
EPISODE 389: Ex cathedra.
I’ve been meaning to Share & Tell with two noted Friends of PTFO:
The Bulwark’s Tim Miller and our friend Stephanie Ruhle, whose career pivot from finance to cable news means that I can continue to mine her for insights into the (social) network she has somehow preserved. On the docket, in part…
Can Trump ruin the Knicks?
Why are billionaires so sensitive?
Just how much of the White House is for sale?
Should we be calling this “capitalism”?
Is the pope radical?
PLUS: the joylessness of a luxury box.
P.S. After taping this episode, Tim and I could not stop making content:
YOUTUBE SPOILER ALERT:
Amen,
Pablo

Stephanie said the US perfected governmental system with the three checks and balances, but I disagree. The Haudenosaunee Great Law of Peace predates the US Constitution, and served as the basis for the Constitution’s creation. The Great Law of Peace is a better, stronger government. It’s predicated on the input of a council of women, something the US would never consider, and is a big reason the Trump admin as been able to so easily upend the facade of checks and balances.
Nobody has perfected governmental systems, but the Haudenosaunee are much closer than the US has ever been. They are the longest living democracy for a reason, and that reason is the acquiescence to the wisdom of women.
