I was Rony Seikaly’s agent during this period and was blown away by this piece .
When I say Rony would give you the shirt off his back, I mean that literally. He did that for me once in some heavy
rain… on your show Rony was trying to reference where he was ,what city, etc. When he learned about Magic,
I happen to have been there and it was in a Secaucus New
Jersey hotel as Heat were playing the Nets that night. I was in the lobby of that hotel when announcement was made. Every single player trainer, etc., immediately congregated in the lobby. Obviously they were all extremely upset and in denial, But I remember Ronnie kind of breaking down completely
Ron Siekly is a great DJ. My first time seeing him was as the Center who would replace Shaquille O’ Neal as Center for the Orlando Magic when Shaq signed with the Lakers. Nice elbow jumper jump shot. If he played today in this era he might be Jokic.
At the moment I got the Substack email about this story, there was a cold wind blowing here in Atlanta but I was sitting at the kitchen island sipping wine with my wife while she prepared dinner and we were singing along to Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day.” The vibe rolls on.
