After 13 years of doing Around The Horn — the 23-year-old ESPN television show that introduced me to so many of you out there — I taped my last and final episode today.
A fact which hasn’t quite sunk in yet.
But what I tried to convey in my farewell FaceTime, as I retire with 138.75 wins in 606 appearances, is that I couldn’t possibly fit my 13 years into those 30 seconds.
Or this newsletter.
Which is why I am so grateful to have my friend Tony Reali on PTFO this week.
And I’d encourage you to watch this episode even if you’ve never seen a second of ATH, by the way.
Not least because this is the television family that changed my life.
YOUTUBE SPOILER ALERT:
Keep it tight,
Pablo
P.S. Tony has just started a YouTube channel. Please subscribe to that, too!
It’s the end of an era, for sure. You and the other talented scribes on ATH are likely to get more traction with podcasts than on ESPN, with much greater control. ATH has run its course. But not without leaving a formidable legacy. Now, for an older geezer like me, it’s time to take a deeper dive into podcasts. Keep up the good work.
I’m gonna miss that show.
