EPISODE 346: Wrongful conviction.
Imagine you’re me for a second.
It’s last December. You’re at an upscale holiday party in New York. And you randomly get introduced to a guy you’ve never met before in a hoodie and glasses.
The guy kinda looks like John Turturro. And kinda sounds like Ray Romano. And the first thing he starts telling you about is his (former) addiction to sports betting.
But then you find out that this guy’s life has been most distinguished by making bets of a different kind.
Because here is an incomplete list of the musical acts signed by Jason Flom, the founder of Lava Records (and former chairman of Atlantic Records):
Twisted Sister
Skid Row
Stone Temple Pilots
Jewel
Tori Amos
Matchbox Twenty
Kid Rock
Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Simple Plan
The Corrs
Paramore
Katy Perry
Thirty Seconds to Mars
Lorde
The Warning
And it goes on like that, for a while.
But none of it is why I wanted to sit down with Jason Flom — who also happens to be the host of a program called Wrongful Conviction — on the show this week.
NOTE: PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION TO FREE CHARLES FLORES.
Time is running out. (See previous.)
Thanks,
Pablo
