The Congressman Who Unlocked the Epstein Files

EPISODE 329: Islands of prosperity.

When we first booked Ro Khanna, the congressman whose district contains Silicon Valley, the scope was actually pretty narrow: I wanted to talk about his Epstein Files Transparency Act.

That law is what finally put thousands of documents — from e-mails to flight logs — on the Internet. Several of which happened to mention the name of another (former) Democratic congressman and (future) PTFO guest: Tom McMillen.

The 6-foot-11 former NBA player and Clinton appointee.

McMillen was the guy right next to Jeffrey Epstein, greeting Donald Trump, in that infamous viral video at Mar-a-Lago in 1992. But McMillen told us this:

But after that episode, in December 2025, I not only found two donations from Epstein to McMillen’s congressional campaigns.

I also found a fascinating piece of audio: Ghislaine Maxwell’s interview with the Department of Justice, from July 2025. Where the DOJ tells Maxwell — Epstein’s imprisoned former girlfriend and associate — that she’d mentioned President Clinton, and President Trump… before asking another question about the ‘90s:

But as we consulted our notes here, and sat down with Ro Khanna, it became clear that the Epstein Files are even more than the story of the most infamous pedophile in American history. And his more than one thousand alleged victims.

It’s also the story of a historically unaccountable class of people — in both parties — who occupy their own islands of prosperity. And who’ve crippled trust in government itself.
