There’s a big DOGE hearing on Capitol Hill tomorrow that you may have heard about, if you’ve been watching any amount of Fox News over the last month.

Beyond the sheer tonnage of outrage, there have been congressional subpoenas; claims of physical endangerment; and threats of a criminal investigation from President Trump’s attorney general and secretary of education.

The cause: an elite female fencer who got punished for taking a knee, in protest of her transgender opponent at an Olympic qualifier.

The problem: that story isn’t true.
