The avalanche of gambling scandals continues.

And there is one person, in specific, I’d been meaning to talk to. Someone I don’t agree with, on lots of issues. But someone whose perspective — whose secrets — I seek on these exact subjects.

According to both ESPN and himself, Haralabob Voulgaris is the best gambler in the history of the NBA. He’s won more than nine figures betting on games.

Bob also happens to be the only NBA bettor who got hired to become an actual NBA executive — title: director of quantitative research and development for the Dallas Mavericks — and it was in large part because of his success betting.

Bob, incidentally, is also a highly competitive poker player. And now the owner and operator of CD Castellón, a professional soccer team in Spain.

But what is crucial to establish here is that Bob got insanely rich long before the Supreme Court struck down the federal ban on sports betting, in May 2018.

Meaning that when Bob was becoming the guy that every legal sports gambler is now striving to be, it was a very, very different world.
