My longtime producer, Chris Tumminello, pointed out to me recently that while Episode No. 1 of Pablo Torre Finds Out was about Dan Le Batard’s Trump tapes, that was not the first interview we ever taped for PTFO.
The first interview we ever taped, in 2023, was something evergreen enough to sit around for a while.
Eventually, it became Episode No. 42: How To Invent a Fake Superstar.
The reason I’m telling you all this is because I recently had the opportunity to work with PTFO listener Ira Glass (!) on a new adaptation of Episode No. 42.
And this weekend, the final product aired as Act Two of a public radio show I have been obsessed with, ever since I discovered it, far too late:
