I’d been looking for a way to close the loop on one of our original NBA investigations.
A saga which involved the billionaire owner of the team with the worst all-time winning percentage in the sport’s history: the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Back in May 2024, the great Zach Harper was our guest of honor.
This time, I turned to Zach’s fellow Timberwolves superfan Joe Mande — a person whose comedy I used to get stoned and watch in the East Village (it ruled) — and our mutual friend Mike Schur (who used to own an Aspiration debit card).
Together, we tell the strange story of how this franchise was sold, the first time.
And how, at long last, the bane of Joe’s existence was forced to let it go.
(Also: hats.)
YOUTUBE SPOILER ALERT:
